Hiljade školaraca širom sveta napustilo je učionice zbog protesta koji je posvećen klimatskim promenama.
Indija, Južna Koreja, Australija i Francuska su među zemljama u kojima tinejdžeri protestuju.
Veruje se da će ova akcija, koju je započela švedska tinejdžerka Greta Tunberg ispred parlamenta, biti organizovana u još 100 zemalja.
Naučinici kažu da moraju da se pojačaju mere kako bi se globalno zagrevanje usporilo i zaustavilo.
Pariski klimatski sporazum iz 2017. godine potpisalo je 200 zemalja. Primarni cilj ovog sporazuma jeste ograničenost rasta globalne temperature na ispod 2°C, do 2100. godine, kao i da se porast ograniči na 1.5 °C.
Protesti u kojima učestvuju deca organizovani su preko Tvitera i drugih socijalnih mreža u poslednjih par meseci.
Greta Tunberg (16) je za pokretanje ova kampanje dobila nominaciju za Nobelovu nagradu za mir.
Na Svetskom ekonomskom forumu u Davosu u Švajcarskoj koji je održan u januaru, Greta je u svom obraćanju političarima govorila o tome da moramo da znamo da smo mi krivi što se klimatske promene dešavaju.
Ministri pojedinih zemalja zabrinuti su što deca nisu u školi.
Den Tehan, australijski ministar prosvete kaže da ne treba podsticati proteste dok traju časovi, dok se Damijan Hinds britanski ministar s njim ne slaže, već ih podržava.
„Zajednička akcija ovog tipa može da napravi značajan pomak", kaže Hinds.
